The 10 best colleges to attend if you want to be your own boss

If you want to be an entrepreneur, then you might want to apply to Stanford, the University of California at Berkeley, or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
These schools top the list of undergraduate colleges that produce the most venture-backed entrepreneurs, according to an analysis by enterprise data software company PitchBook.
For the report, PitchBook measured the number of founders of companies that received a first round of venture funding between January 1, 2006, and August 15, 2016.
Over the past decade, Stanford has graduated more than 1,000 entrepreneurs who have raised a combined $18.1 billion, according to the report. 
Located between San Jose and San Francisco, California, Stanford is smack dab in the middle of Silicon Valley. Being connected to a community with deep pockets of start-up capital helps graduates get funding for their ideas.
Meanwhile, the University of California at Berkeley has produced 997 venture-backed entrepreneurs and MIT has produced 813 in the same time period.
While you don't have to go to college to become a successful entrepreneur, establishing a strong foundation and network doesn't hurt. Here are the 10 best universities to attend if you want to be your own boss:
